Position Description
Sub Investigator needed in Orlando FL to focus on GLP clinical trials! This is 5 days a week onsite opportunity!
Job Description
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) provides clinical assessment and care within their licensure scope, adhering to trial protocols, FDA Regulations, and ICH/GCP Guidelines. This role involves working with TRI research volunteers in Phase I-IV clinical trials, both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated. The APRN or PA, under a Physician's supervision, performs study-related physical exams, follow-up assessments, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, evaluates and treats adverse events, and performs study-related procedures. Effective communication with volunteers and collaboration with investigators, project managers, research coordinators, and other staff is essential. The APRN participates in training programs to stay updated on industry trends and skills relevant to research and clinical care, while maintaining outstanding customer service and respectful relationships.

Responsibilities
- Utilize knowledge and skills to care for adult and pediatric patients in a clinical setting.
- Document essential history information and physical exam components supporting the study protocol.
- Provide appropriate counseling, referrals, and orders as documented.
- Interpret diagnostic testing accurately, referring abnormal results to a physician when necessary.
- Refer to supervising physician or other healthcare providers as needed.
- Maintain active presence in local and national chapters of professional associations.
- Meet productivity standards set by the department.
- Participate in training programs, ensuring knowledge and skills are current and compliant.
- Complete Employee Assessment Form and proactively plan for career development.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth and efficient department operations.
- Assist in protocol development and review research drafts for publication submission.
- If Nurse Practitioner: Certified in advanced or specialized nursing practice according to Florida statutes.
- If Physician Assistant: Scope of practice regulated by Florida Statute 458 and 459, with privileges requiring direct supervision by a physician defined by Florida Statutes 59R-30.001.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.), Internet research tools, word processing, and databases.
