Legislative Attention Needed

Posted almost 7 years ago by Michelle Rampersad

Dear Colleagues,

The Baker Act Bill (SB 1750) is stuck in the Senate Budget Committee. SB 1750 will allow NPs and PAs to sign a certificate of involuntary examination for suicidal or homicidal patients.

AANP has learned that SB 1750 is lagging in committee and needs some assistance to move forward. The session ends on Friday, so quick action is needed to help it move. It is not too late to get this bill passed!

ACTION REQUEST:

Please email and call Senate President Haridopolos's office and Senator Thrasher to ask them to sign the green card for SB 1750 to move the bill and mental health care forward in Florida.

Senate President Haridopolos can be reached at (850) 487-5056 or haridopolos.mike.web@flsenate.gov

Senator Thrasher can be reached at (850) 487-5030 or thrasher.john.web@flsenate.gov

Thank you for your advocacy for patients and their families for mental health access.
