Contact Senate HHS Appropriations Committee Members Today!

The Florida Senate's Health and Human Services (HHS) Appropriations Committee holds the key to providing state funding for the Mary Brogan Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program. The Committee's budget deliberations over the next few days will be critical in determining whether or not Florida takes an important first step toward screening thousands of medically underserved and uninsured women.

Currently, Florida is one of only seven states in the U.S. that doesn't invest any state funding into screening through this program, leaving a staggering 178,000 eligible women unserved and vulnerable. Sadly, only 1 in 18 women are reached as a result of this lack of funding. We know breast cancer screening saves lives, and now is the time for the Florida Legislature to act.
